Lifting the Mood
You know you have those days where you literally drag yourself out of bed and you just feel blah and there’s nothing you can do about it. You feel tired and unmotivated. We all get those days. In fact, I had one a couple of weeks ago. And the weather certainly matched my mood.
So, what’s the solution? I have a couple in mind. I have been exercising all my life. Out of the 1000s of work outs I’ve done, I would say that there have only been a handful that I’ve done and that I’ve not felt better afterwards.
I went for a run in the rain. Which was actually beautiful. There was nobody around. My thoughts became clear. My mood lifted. I made a plan for the rest of the day and got on with it as soon as I got back.
The problem of course was that I spent half the day procrastinating because of my mood. In the end, I just didn’t think about it too much. I put on my running shoes and just went. I really didn’t care for the first few minutes but not long after, my mood lifted.
I will talk about how to stop procrastinating over something which will make us feel better in another blog post. On one level it is really difficult. On another, it is so simple. No excuses!!
